“I have known Mr. Fabio Viana since April of 2011. He was referred to me by my Veterinarian, Dr. Robert Lusk of 30 years. I had some surgeries that caused me to have two hospital stays and Fabio on Dr. Lusk’s say so took care of my 4 cats while, I was hospitalized, and after I came home. The name Dr. Stephen J. Ettinger has practically become synonymous with veterinary specialties. Not only did he and his colleagues found the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, but also, in 1977 he helped establish the Berkeley Veterinary Medical Group, the first private group veterinary specialty practice in the United States. In addition, Dr. Ettinger published the “Textbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine,” the gold standard in veterinary internal medicine texts, among other important veterinary medical tomes. Finally, as one of the profession’s pioneers in veterinary cardiology, he has made substantial contributions to the development of diagnostic procedures and therapeutic regimens for managing cardiac problems in companion animals.
When the CAH was sold to VCA, Fabio moved to the new facility in WLA. This is a high tech facility with 50 veterinarians in multiple specialties. Fabio was a key assistant for many of these specialty vets. Now he has decided to seek the American dream, became an entrepreneur, and start his own Veterinary Assistant service to take care of a plethora of pets as a home service throughout the Los Angeles area.

“We were devastated when our one year-old cat ‘Grayson’ was hit by a car. Even though he badly broke three legs (requiring extensive surgery/metal pins) was in extreme shock and lost an eye, amazingly he pulled through. It was nothing short of a miracle.
As the accident happened during the holidays and we were due to visit family in England less than three weeks later we were extremely worried about leaving Gray with a petsitter, when he required care 3x a day, including physic therapy on his legs and being fed food and medication through a tube. Thankfully upon a recommendation by VCA medical hospital, Fabio, with his almost intuitive understanding of animals, came to our rescue. In the two weeks we were away he took care of Gray in his home, making sure his legs were kept limber and he was given the correct dosage of food/medication etc. He made sure to clean and unblock Gray’s feeding tube regularly and even took him for to his medical appointments.
